Angul is a town and a municipality and the headquarters of the Angul district in the state of Odisha. Angul district is located in the center of the state of Odisha. It is bounded by Dhenkanal and Cuttak in the east, Deoghar and Sundargarh district in north, Sambalpur and Sonepur in west and Boudh and Nayagarh in the south side. The district is abundant with natural resources which ultimately help the district to contribute maximum amount of revenue to the state government.  Angul, the district headquarters is about 150 km from the state capital Bhubaneshwar, Even though Angul district blessed with rich natural recourses, it is the hottest district in India where maximum temperature goes up 55 c during the summer. The great natural resources and beauties like Satakosia over river Mahanadi, Rengali dam and Samal Barage over Brahmani River, hot water spring at Deulajhari in its Athmalik sub division. By Rail :- Angul railway station is one of the Barang JN Sambalpur section of Howrah -  Nagpur – Mumbai line in the east coast railway zone headquartered at Bhubaneshwar.
