Mohali or Ajitgarh is a city which is a commercial hub lying adjacent to the city of Chandigarh in Punjab, India. It is administrative headquarters of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District. It is still known and popular, as Mohali among local people and other parts of India. It was officially named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh, the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh as SAS Nagar ("City of Sahibzada Ajit Singh").  In 2012, the name was shortened to Ajitgarh ("Fort of Sahibzada Ajit Singh"). Ajitgarh, along with Chandigarh and Panchkula, forms a part of theChandigarh Tricity. It was earlier a part of the Rupnagar District, and was carved out as a separate district in 2006. Following the success of Chandigarh's sector design, Ajitgarh was similarly planned into identical 800-by-1200 m sectors.  Today the city has 11 phases each of which is divided into identical sectors. In the beginning, the city was developed only up to Phase 7; later as the population began to grow more and more phases began to be developed and brought under the scope of Ajitgarh Municipal Corporation. The region has been targeted by an increasing number of outsourcing IT companies, who look to capitalize on the rich investment opportunities the city offers. Ajitgarh is a Municipal Corporation, with Kulwant Singh as the first Mayor since August 2015.

A new Air Conditioned Inter State Bus terminus is under construction under name C&C Mohali Junction

By Rail :- Mohali Railway Station is present in Industrial Area, Phase 9 which has two platforms and connects the city with several important locations in the region such asDelhi, Ludhiana, Amritsar and even other parts of the country.

By Air :- Soon Mohali is going to get a new International airport, which is extension of Chandigarh Airport.
